Missions At Cornerstone
Missionary support and missions outreach is directed by Carol Kuykendoll. Under her excellent leadership, Cornerstone's vision and support for missions has grown steadily each year. Carol knows the impact that participating in missions has on individuals and on a congregation. She has encouraged faith promise giving and prayer partnership with the missions and missionaries Cornerstone is supporting. Through this vital arm of the church Cornerstone is helping to impact the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are also able to help the poor and those with various needs, including drug addiction, unwanted pregnancy, loneliness of new immigrants and other worthwhile helps.
Among the highlights of the missions outreach is our participation with Franklin Graham's Operation Christmas Child in which our congregation prepares shoeboxes of toys and other items for distribution by Samaritan's Purse to needy children of the World.
Through Assembly of God Foreign Missions, we support Edward Vergara in Spain, Joel Charest in Mozambique, and David Hymes in Japan and the Philippines. Each of these committed missionaries is making a difference in their part of the world.
We partner with NEW Missions in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, providing food, clothing and schooling for impoverished children and families while also buidling churches and sharing Christ. Our congregation has participated financially in the "rebuild Haiti" project after the devasating earthquake. The money will rebuild and restore Medical clinics and schools run by NEW Missions. It will also continue to feed, cloth and educate 9,000 children - many of whom have nowhere else to turn. We encourage everyone to give individually whatever they are able to help this project.
Through Assembly of God Home Missions we partner with Andrew Cunningham at Yale University - impacting some of the top future leaders of America and other countries through Chi Alpha.
We partner with Kristine Villaluz and Ablazer Ministries, reaching the street youth of the Philippines. Through Teen Challenge we help those with life-controlling addictions. Through A Woman's Concern we help women in crisis pregnancies, offering an alternative to abortion and other types of support. And by supporting Gregg Detwiler at Emmanuel Gospel Center we are able to encourage, impact and help ethnic people from many nations who are in the greater Boston area, some of whom are lonely and frightened.
We praise God for these dedicated missionaries and missions outreaches and hope to increase support to them and other missionaries as our support base grows. It is a joy to respond to Jesus directive: "Go into all the world and preach the gospel..."
